Calgary, Canada Flooding

flooded city of Calgary

It’s been two years since our Rapid Response Team deployed to Calgary, Canada to assist business owners in Disaster Restoration from the worst flooding in decades. Calgary, as well as surrounding areas, was flooded when the two rivers that converge in the city overflowed due to heavy rainfall. Many commercial and residential structures were affected by the flooding and thousands of residents had to be evacuated.

One area affected was The Calgary Stampede rodeo and fairgrounds. The Calgary Stampede is billed as ‘The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth’. Flood waters covered most of the grounds as well as the Saddledome that hosts the rodeo and other events. The Saddledome sustained floodwaters throughout the entire arena up to the eighth level. The event hosts up to 700,000 attendees each year. Thanks to the rapid response of ServiceMaster Recovery Management, the event opened as scheduled; only two weeks after the damage occurred. Indeed, ServiceMaster Recovery Management can help you recover quickly from any form of water damage. Contact us for any restoration questions.
